Biography
Lynn Bridge first studied art at the University of Texas, then went on to graduate with a B. F. A. with an emphasis on painting from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. . Although she didn't become a professional artist for years, she always had an artistic output: banners, drawings for brochures, fiber weavings, fabric hangings, and paintings.
Lynn creates mosaics using her unique technique of laying a large variety of tesserae into colored cement, making even the two-dimensional pieces highly textured. The themes of her work, when not flat-out humorous, are often her contemplations of life's deep questions which she finds hidden in plain sight in her everyday world.
Lynn is a member of the Creative Arts Society in Austin, TX, the Austin Mosaic Guild, the Multicultural Artists Partnership in Austin, TX, Christians in the Visual Arts, and the Society of American Mosaic Artists.
